Description:
In 1962 Communist Poland, 18-year old Anna, an orphan raised in a convent, is preparing to become a nun when the Mother Superior insists she must first visit her only living relative. Aunt Wanda — a hero resistance fighter, then respected military prosecutor, and now chain smoking alcoholic and judge — reveals that Anna's real name is Ida Lebenstein. They travel together to the village they are from searching for answers about what happened to Ida's family. Won the 2014 Oscar for Best International Feature Film.
