First Place for the most difficult category, Category C (50,000 ft-250,000 ft) was awarded to Student Space Technology Association – Liquids – from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, debuting their cutting-edge P-class (40,960–81,920 Total Impulse in N·s) high powered rocket engine, designed by 2025 club President Alex Van Bruggen. Very few student amateur rocket clubs have historically designed and tested a rocket engine of P-class or above, with UTK being the first to accomplish this in a self-designed liquid engine.
